#scclassfromthepast | Inked class lesson: Digital Stamps

studio calico Here's the thing. I love, love, LOVE the Studio Calico classes. However, I never seem to find the time to commit to them. So I decided I needed something to keep my momentum going and learn a few things from our beloved Studio Calico classes.  I posted this thread on the SC website inviting anyone who is in the same boat as I to join me as I go through my class lessons.  This will be a very loose format where, if interested, you can pick one of your SC classes and basically go through the lessons at your own pace.  But to keep you motivated, we will be sharing what we've learned through the Studio Calico gallery, on our blogs, or any other sort of social media platform.  Either once a week or once a month (frequency is yet to be determined) we will post our accomplishments with the tag #scclassfromthepast so it is easy to find and follow along.  I will be posting here on my blog as well as on Instagram and my Studio Calico gallery.

Ok, let's get started.  The class I started with is Inked.  I have been itching to learn more about using the stamp brushes in Photoshop so I jumped straight to the Digital Stamp video/lesson.  I also found this video from Shanna Noel (who also hosts the video in the class) and found so much inspiration from her that I couldn't wait to make a few project life cards of my own.  Here's what I came up with:

Here I started with the cute envelope and heart digital stamp.  I wanted the heart a different color than the rest of the envelope, then I created a pattern with the stamp.  Shanna has such a wonderful and easy to follow way of explaining the steps, and I wish I could link the video up here.  But…since it was a purchased class I cannot.  Maybe I'll come up with a little step by step tutorial myself one of these days.  I'll add it to my list.

As you can see I wanted to have a little more fun with the envelope background.  And yes, I realize I created a Christmas card and it is March.  BUT I was sooo disappointed when I didn't get this card kit add-on that included these physical stamps that once I learned how to use the digital ones I just had to pull these out and play around.  I LOVE these stamps.  Aren't they just adorable?!

So, if you are here to follow along with the #scclassfromthepast, I encourage you to stick with it and maybe we can learn a little something from each other.  For me, this is simply to develop a fun community of crafters where we can motivate and inspire each other to actually stick to our classes!  Thanks for popping by and make sure you follow me here on Instagram.  Come back tomorrow to see what I've made with my PL cards and stay tuned for next weeks installment of #scclassfromthepast.
