Carnival Themed 1st Birthday Party
Lexie's carnival themed 1st birthday party!
*warning* This post is very photo heavy! But there is lots of cuteness at the end so make sure you read all the way through!
For Lexie's birthday we decided to have a carnival theme. We were on a very tight budget but we still wanted to go all out for her 1st birthday. What new parents don't, am I right?! So I made a lot of the decorations myself. Which, let me tell you, I will n.e.v.e.r. do that again. All the paper decorations were made using Crate Paper's Party Day collection and October Afternoon's Midway collection.
Though it was very rewarding in the end, it took me the whole month of October to make and plan everything! My sister made the smash cake and popcorn cupcakes (below). A couple days before the party, my parents and sister came to help set up and we made all the food.
Here's how the party went down. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
The idea for this garland is to add pictures from the party to make a mini album.
The carousel horses were made using my Silhouette Cameo.
This banner took for-EVER but was so worth it.
Here are the popcorn cupcakes my sister made! They are topped with marshmallows which she hand painted with yellow food coloring.
This sign on our front door was also cut with my Silhouette Cameo. Sorry for the glare on the picture.
The only picture we had of the tent streamers in our living room includes my Uncle, lol. Hi Uncle Allan!
My hubby made this beautiful Lemonade stand with his dad. He even hand painted "Lemonade" on it!
Unfortunately we didn't have any pictures of the lemonade stand in action. But we used mason jars for the drinks and made watermelon lemonade for the lil ones, and white sangria for the adults. I so wish we had a picture! It was adorable with little signs on it too. Ah well.
They also made this bean bag toss and my husbands' mom made the bean bags. We had fun playing games in the backyard. We were very lucky that it was a beautiful, sunny day.
The beautiful cake my sister made! Too bad it's getting smashed up later. Teehee.
And after a little help, she finally made a mess out of it! All the guests were very patient.
Lexie isn't quite yet walking here. She can stand for long periods and walks well holding our hands.
We had such a blast at Lexie's 1st birthday party! Most of these pictures are courtesy of our friend, Taylor Ray. You can find her here. She is in photography school but does quite a lovely job, don't ya think?
Thanks for stopping by!
