#scclassfromthepast :: Inked Class Lesson + a Project Life spread
Thanks for joining me again for #scclassfromthepast! See this post to see what it is all about. This week I am still jumping my way around Studio Calico's "Inked" class so I used a couple of the lessons combined with this one. Today, I am showing how I used stamps as embellishments.
Here I stamped these cute images from the Sugar Rush card kit stamp set from Studio Calico. I have my set of Prisma Markers from back in the day when I was in Interior Design school. They are sitting on my desk just waiting to be used so this was the perfect opportunity. I first stamped the boy and girl images on white card stock, colored them in with my markers and some colored pencil as well. Then painstakingly cut them out. I'm not very patient so I didn't enjoy that part! Lol.
For what ever reason, I did not get a picture of my husband and I together on our 3 year anniversary in January. We celebrated the week before when we were visiting family in Rhode Island. So when the actual date came we sort of laid low so it didn't even cross my mind! Kicking myself now. So I used the boy and girl stamps as our stand-ins. Teehee.
I also did a little more fussy cutting with the crown stamp in the Sugar Rush card kit. See it on top of the ice cream card? I absolutely love this card {original} from Sugar Rush Project Life kit. But the ice cream cone didn't really suite my needs for this spread. So I tweaked it a bit.
Here is the rest of my Project Life spread for the beginning of January. Since this is my first year I am still working through my flow and how I am going to document, i.e. weekly, monthly, or just as things happens. I'm taking the "no rules" approach and don't really have a set format right now. On the "Live in the Moment" card I need to add my January title since this is the main start page for my album (the front of this skinny layout is for New Years, which I haven't completed yet). So yeah, I'd say I'm jumping around a bit.
I know some people are, but I chose not to be picky with mixing rounded and squared edges. I just don't have the time to fuss over the little things! And as a happy accident, the three pictures of Lexie in the middle printed a little too small so I matted them with card stock from the Sugar Rush card kit. I love the touch of color it added to my spread.
Here is where I used my "love this" Project Life card I made. You can see more of my PL cards from this post.
Thanks for spending some time with me!
